Senatorial bye-election: PDP flags off campaign Friday 

Ahead of the Cross River North Senatorial by-election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)Northern Senatorial Campaign Council has commenced full preparations for the campaign flag off slated for Friday.

According to a statement from the Campaign Council, the  build up will  start  on Thursday, 15th October, 2020, which will herald the arrival of the senatorial candidate, Dr Stephen Odey  on  Friday to mark the high point of the campaign flag off.

According to the body, “For 21 years of democracy in Nigeria, the Northern Senatorial district election has been won by the PDP.

“The people of the north are ready to keep a date with history by  ensuring that the PDP wins again”.

Consequently, there will be a rousing welcome for the senatorial candidate at Ndok Junction, with flag off of campaign on Friday at Okpoma.

The Campaign Council assured that it is determined to maintain the status quo of  the Northern Senatorial district remaining PDP.

The campaign Council is made up of seasoned political personalities that have over the years delivered on elections and with undeniable experience.

From 1999 to date, the Senatorial zone has produced the following senators: June 1999 – August 1999 – Kanu Agabi (Bekwarra), August 1999 – May 2003 – Musa Adede (Obanliku), June 2003 – May 2011 – Greg Ngaji (Yala) and June 2011 – March 2020 – Rose Oko (Yala).
