End SARS: NHRC constitutes Independent panel to investigate allegations against police 

The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, has constituted members of the Independent investigate panel to probe the allegations against the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, unit of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF.

The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) was disbanded after series of public outcries and allegations bothering on bullying, extortion, sheer brutality and exra-judicial killings.

However, NHRC said the panel would be headed by Justice Suleiman Galadima (Rtd).

A statement by NHRC named Abdulrahaman Yakubu, Yemi Ademolakun, Chioma Chuka, Prof Ayo Atsenuwa, Tijani Mohammad and Dr Uju Agomoh as members.

Others are Ibrahim Lamorde, Garba Telengi, Feyikemi Abudu, John Aikpokpo Martins, while Hillary Ogbonna will serve as Secretary to the panel.

You will recall that Nigeria Defender earlier reported that, sensational rapper-cum-lawyer, Folarin Falana aka Falz had faulted the moves by the NHRC to set up an independent panel to perform its duty.
