A Chadian lady identified as Vivien Tarmadji has been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with 234.35 grams of heroin concealed in her private parts.
She was arrested while trying to board an Ethiopian airline flight 911 en route Addis Ababa-Italy, by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
NDLEA Spokesman, Femi Babafemi, on Friday in Abuja said that the trafficker was arrested by vigilant narcotics agents during an outward clearance of the airline at the boarding gate after being scanned.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed that she was contacted by a man who called her from Italy to collect the drug from someone else who delivered the illicit substance to her in a hotel she lodged in Lagos earlier in the day.
Babafemi said, “He brought 50 wraps of heroin for her to swallow, but she could not, and then decided to insert 18 wraps into her private parts and returned the remaining ones to the man that brought the drug to her in the hotel.”
The agency’s Spokesman added that the suspect also revealed that she came into Nigeria to raise money for her house and shop rents which had expired in Italy, as life has not been easy since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world.
She also added that the owner of the drug was to pay her 10,000 Euro for the successful delivery of the drug to Italy.
