Former Presidential aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has alleged that the southeast is under military occupation.
He said the heavy military present in the southeast needs to be replicated in the north, so that the nation’s security equilibrium can be balanced.
The renowned author argued that if the same swiftness that the military use in going against unknown gunmen in the southeast was being replicated against the killer herdsmen, the nation would have been saver.
Omokri wrote; “If the Nigerian Army go after killer herdsmen and bandits the way they are going after unknown gunmen in the Southeast, Nigeria would be a more stable nation. I look at the determination and swiftness of our military in the Southeast and wonder if this is the same military in the North. Bandits can abduct 330 boys from Katsina and drive them to Jigawa, they can abduct 200 Islamic scholars from Niger and take them to who knows where, and nothing stops them. But in the Southeast, we have more soldiers per square mile than you have around Sambisa. I support the military action to provide security. But let it be balanced!”
